Great Barrier Island - one of New Zealand's most special places.

Deserted beaches, beautiful scenery!

Great Barrier Island really is a paradise.  It is located in New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf, just a scenic 30 minute flight away from the crowds of Auckland.   Great Barrier Island offers wonderful snorkelling, deserted beaches and anchorages, beautiful scenery
and abundant seafood and it is perfectly located as a "launching pad" to other top boat cruising grounds further North in New Zealand.

The Island is home to many native plant and bird species with over 60% of the land reserved as a protected conservation area.  Pods of whales and dolphins are a common sight in the waters surrounding Great Barrier Island.

Explore, dive, snorkel, watch dolphins and fish to your hearts content.

The GAMESAIL team have been exploring and holidaying in the Great Barrier Island
area for over 20 years so we know all the best spots.  We know where the dolphins 'hang out' and we can take you to the best places to fish, snorkel or dive.

If you take a 7 day Gamesail charter, you have ample time to get to the Bay of Islands, via the beautiful "Mokohinau Islands", the world famous "Poor Knights" Marine Reserve as well as other great fishing and diving spots and beautiful anchorages.
