Waiheke Island

This is a great little get-away and a very popular spot for locals, tourists and honeymooners.   It's so close to Auckland, it only takes about 35mins to get to by boat.  This picturesque little Island in the Hauraki Gulf has a permanent population of about 8,000 and is an interesting mix of villages, farmland, beaches and forest.

The Island is known for its many award-wining wineries and its olive groves.  Waiheke Island can be enjoyed on or off the water.  On-shore you can enjoy sight-seeing, island shopping, cafes, arts and crafts, walks, beaches, tours and local events.

Perfect for special celebrations

Waiheke Island is a lovely place for an intimate wedding, honeymoon, elopement,  renewing your vows, engagement party or anniversary.  You can have the celebration on board and cruise out to Waiheke on Gamesail's Te NgaKau A Kupe.  Read more about a celebration on the sea and our itinerary for a Waiheke Island cruise
