Hauraki Gulf
The Hauraki Gulf stretches between Auckland's Waitemata Harbour and the Coromandel Peninsula. With its sheltered waters studded with over 50 islands it makes a perfect playground for GAMESAIL guests.
Island get-aways
The most well-known islands are Great Barrier (the largest Island in the Gulf), Waiheke, Kawau, Rangitoto, Motutapu, Rakino, Little Barrier, Tiritiri Matangi, Brown Island and Pakatoa Island.
Some of the islands are home to rare species of animals, birds, flora and fauna. These include the New Zealand native Takahe (bird) and Tuatara (reptile). As a result, a permit is required to land on them.
The Hauraki Gulf is also an ideal place to see dolphins and whales. Read our Hauraki Gulf Island Cruise itinerary then Talk to us about your vacation ideas.
